Engineering

Contract engineering from the circuit board to the agent fleet

This section is for satellite operators, teleports, systems integrators, companies building hardware, and organizations running networks, infrastructure and AI systems in production. It is not the homeowner side of the business. WiFi, cameras, backup internet and network work at a home or a small business address are on the services page.

This work is remote and national, and it is scoped per program. There is no free on-site estimate here. What usually comes first is a bounded piece of work with a written deliverable a technical reviewer can check against their own measurements.

On capacity: the engineering is led by the two principals, and behind them is a network of specialist consultants and trades built over decades in satellite, RF and hardware, including accredited test laboratories and field technicians in the United States, Brazil and on deployment. Scope is not limited to what two people can do in a week, and the accountable engineer does not change halfway through.

Schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, RF front ends and bring-up, through design for manufacture.

Altium Designer · Nordic nRF52 and nRF9160

FCC, CE and Anatel Compliance for Radio Products

Getting a wireless product legally sold in the United States, Europe and Brazil, and designing it so it passes the first time.

FCC Part 15 Subpart B and C, SDoC and TCB certification routes

Embedded Firmware Development and Embedded Linux

RTOS and bare-metal firmware, kernel and driver work, and the board support package underneath both.

Robotics, Drones and Real-Time Control Systems

Real-time control systems that hold a hard deadline, autonomous response, and the instrumentation that proves the loop closes.

MAVLink · Real-time closed-loop control

RF and Satellite Ground Segment Engineering

Ground segment, teleport and earth station engineering: link budgets, RF chains, commissioning and acceptance.

Ka-, Ku- and V-band earth stations

Multi-Site VPN Engineering and Network Security

WireGuard and OpenWRT · Traefik v3 with Entra OIDC

Self-Hosted Infrastructure Engineering

Virtualization, containers, deployment pipelines and monitoring for systems that have to stay up.

Proxmox VE and LXC · Docker and Traefik v3

Agentic AI Development and LLM Systems

Multi-agent systems, retrieval pipelines and self-hosted inference, built to run in production rather than in a demo.

Model Context Protocol · LiteLLM and LM Studio

Scoped per program. Nothing on this tier is priced from a page.

On the record

Figures, not adjectives

Every line here is work that shipped and that a technical reviewer can ask about in detail. None of it is a capability statement.

Two engineers are accountable for it: hardware, firmware and networks on one side, satellite ground segment and RF on the other. Both are named, with their record.

6 devices
Consumer products taken from concept through to production.
400+ nodes
Field devices across 20+ deployments, each reporting every 15 seconds.
1 RF path
GNSS and LTE sharing one front end, validated on a vector network analyzer.
0 site visits
A solar sensor whose energy budget closed, so it runs unattended indefinitely.
19 gateways
Ka- and V-band gateway integration across a US ground network.
25+ years
Satellite ground segment experience on the RF side of the team.

Engagement

How this normally starts

Rarely with a full development schedule. Almost always with one bounded question that has a checkable answer.

01

A bounded first piece

A design review of an existing board, a link budget review, an energy audit against measured draw, an architecture and readiness assessment. Small enough that both sides find out whether the working relationship is right before a schedule depends on it.

02

A written deliverable

Findings a customer engineering team can check line by line against their own instruments. The deliverable has to be verifiable rather than taken on trust, which is the whole point of scoping it this way.

03

Engineering beside your team

This work almost always lands next to people who already own the firmware, the facility or the requirements. What it needs in practice is source access, a named technical counterpart, and agreement on who signs off a revision.
