Do cell phone signal boosters actually work?
Yes, when there is something outside to amplify and the install is done with measurement instead of hope. The bad reputation comes from kits bought online and stuck to a window with the outside antenna a few feet from the inside one. The amplifier detects that as feedback and turns itself down to almost nothing, so the owner concludes the technology is useless. Separation, aim and placement are the whole job.
What if there is no signal outside at all?
Then a booster cannot help you and we will say so before you spend anything, because an amplifier multiplies what exists and cannot create it. The answer in that case is calling over your internet connection, which costs nothing extra on most plans and works well once the network behind it is set up properly.
